Happy Anniversary Jerry and Karen!! Dawndra sends her love. Have fun in Ruidoso!!
Today we awoke going down the Garonne River. It was about 1-1/2 – 2 hours to get to Bordeaux and get docked. It is a beautiful scenic route that I think very few cruise ships can make because of their size. As we got into Bordeaux the city is incredible. The closer we got to the dock, there were more and more people watching and waving to us. The at the ‘dock’, not like any other we have been at there were probably hundreds watching us dock. We do not think they see many cruise ships come in. It was very interesting because there was a crane with a ramp to put up to the ship to get the service items and food on, I think. As they were moving into position they noticed it was too big to fit on the dock and just gave up. It was kind of humorous. Another sign that they do not do this often. The view from our balcony is great view of the Bourse Maritime and the La Taverne de Maitre Kanter.
As always, we are not exactly sure of our plans, but it will be a great day. We have to be back on board by 10:00pm or we can not make back out under the bridge because of the tide. I heard we only cleared it my a meter coming in.
